Introduction

Key Attributes of Nanojudgements

Nanojudgements are the building blocks that create all human experiences

Managing them is essential for achieving deliberate wealth, well-being, and wisdom

Leveraging them is vital for thriving under uncertainty

What are nanojudgements?

Definition

Nanojudgments are instantaneous and involuntary responses to any mental or physical stimulus. They consist of an evaluation of the stimulus as either positive or negative and an accompanying pleasant or unpleasant feeling in the mind and body.

Nanojudgements are driven by both nature and nurture. Cascades of nanojudgements coalesce to create our preferences and conditioning. These, in turn, shape our opinions and choices, which eventually result in behavior.

Laws of Nanojudgements

The true nature of nanojudgements can never be accurately known; it can only be inferred based on subsequent analysis and actions

Second Law

Protecting one's self-interest is the sole objective of nanojudgements

Nanojudgements are the fundamental units that shape every thought and feeling. Skillfully managing them allows you to create more beneficial human experiences.

Teachable

With training and practice it is possible for anyone to become proficient at engineering nanojudgements for their benefit. Most successful leaders do so without even realizing it.

Superpower

Mastering nanojudgements allows individuals and teams to make significantly better "gut calls" or "intuitive decisions" when facing extreme uncertainty. For example: long-term investments, critical hiring, layoffs, career decisions, relationships, etc.
